Slug Photosynthesis?

There's a slug that can perform photosynthesis!

The little Elysia chlorotica is a species of sea slug that has blurred the line between plant and animal. It has found a way to take genes from the plants that it eats, incorporate it into its own cells, and get energy from sunlight!

The way the slug works is it can eat algae and when it does, it steals the part of the plant cells called chloroplasts and uses them to perform photosynthesis. The result is that this slug only really needs to eat once in their life. Scientists have observed that after the first chloroplast meal, all the slug needs to do to stay alive is sunbathe.

Imagine that, all this slug needs to do to stay alive is basically tan. Maybe they should hire it to be a new cast member in The Jersey Shore.
